ICZ OSIRIS is a typical representative of Warehouse Managament Systems (WMS), which enable the implementation of the principles of controlled storage in all types of warehouse operations. The basic functions of the system provide planning and control of warehouse processes in receiving, loading, picking and picking, picking, preparation of shipment and control of loading, reorganization of the warehouse and its physical inventory.
In most of the processes the system has an active role (planning, decision making, evaluation), while the warehouse staff only execute its orders and record the results. The basic means of communication between the system and the warehouse workers is a mobile terminal with a barcode or RFID scanner. Voice (pick-by-voice) or light (pick-by-light) can also be used for communication. Another means of communication is a standard personal computer (PC). The use of paper documents is limited to those cases where an electronic form is unavailable or less convenient in the context of the process.
